January 2006
New York Post

Jude Law has allegedly been spotted cosying up to an American stripper - just days after splitting from girlfriend Sienna Miller.

The handsome English actor has reportedly been visiting a brunette erotic dancer at Hollywood strip club the Body Shop - famously name checked in the Motley Crue song 'Girls, Girls, Girls' - while he shoots in Los Angeles.

A source told America's New York Post newspaper: "He's been going to the Body Shop strip club every night and hanging out with this nasty young brunette."

National Enquirer USA

The National Enquirer is reporting that Kirsten Dunst was mistaken for a stripper that works at the famed Body Shop while waiting for her limo outside of the Chateau Marmont Hotel on Sunset Boulevard.

A man slinked up beside Dunst and whispered, "I'll pay you $500 if you let me squirt whipped cream on your body and let me lick it off." Offended, Dunst screamed, "Gross!", and turned and walked away. The man following behind her and said, "Wait. What's the matter? I come to watch you dance every weekend!" To which Kirsten replied,"Wrong girl, guy!" then she sped off in her limo.

Daily Star UK

Pink reportedly wants to open a chain of X-rated strip clubs - which she will dance in herself. The pop babe is such a fan of erotic shows she is allegedly considering launching lapdancing dens in London, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. An insider told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "They could be huge because everybody loves her and her determination to take on the establishment." It isn't the first time Pink - real name Alecia Moore - has expressed an interest in stripping. It was recently revealed the singer planned to surprise her husband with a racy pole-dance when she performed a concert in London.

The 26-year-old reportedly asked that a 12ft pole was installed in her dressing room - because she wanted to give hubby Carey Hart a sexy pre-show treat. Pink - who allegedly took lessons for her erotic show - even flew in four lap dancers from top Los Angeles club, The Body Shop.

Demi Moore in 'Striptease' 1996

The movie 'Striptease' and Choreographer Marguerite Derricks.

Except from interview by Gary Dretza November 25 2003:

MCN: You say you canÕt identify any specific signature moves in your work, but that some people will be able to recognize your personal style. Based on such films as Showgirls and Striptease, as well as ÒZumanity,Ó IÕd argue youÕve influenced an entire generation of so-called exotic dancers, though.

MD: (Laughs) Well, Demi and I went to a lot of strip clubs together to research Striptease. I had just finished Showgirls, and had already been to some of the clubs.

They flew me into New York, where Demi was working on The Juror, and weÕd go to Scores.

The girls in New York were basically just doing bump-and-grind and lap dancing, but the girls I saw in the Body Shop, on the Sunset Strip in L.A., were doing more of a striptease. It wasnÕt the nudity that was important, but the teasing, costumes and the pole work.

THE 60's
The Body Shop's first all-nude dancer.

Exert from Hollywood Hangover - a true diary written by the first topless dancer to perform at The Body Shop:

"My name was Nancy Seaman back then, but a lot of people knew me as Simone, which was my stage name.ÊI was a dancer at the Body Shop on Sunset Strip.ÊEventually, I became a stripper and gained notoriety as the first all-nude dancer on the Strip, so I've had about one second of fame.Ê As a popular tourist attraction, I caused a few traffic jams in the area of the Body Shop for a while.ÊI was even asked to be on the Johnny Carson show, but I declined because of the scandal I would have created for my family back home. Granny would haveÊhad a fit!Ê"

The Body Shop History:
The Body Shop has been in continuous operation for close to half a century.

In its early years, the featured performers were big-time burlesque acts like Betty Rowland (once busted for indecent exposure during the course of her act at the Body Shop) and Lili St. Cyr.

Their costumes (yes, they were fully dressed when they took the stage) were lavish and swell; dripping in paillettes and rhinestones, smothered in feathers and ruffles. There were the girls who stripped (barely glimpsed, hence the "tease") into translucent bathtubs, the ones who dipped behind floral arrangements or fluttered those big, feathered fans, each one aiming to make her routine a really classy act. Some succeeded better than others, but all of them were aiming at one goal: please and tease the audience at the same time, and give them a great show.

Today's Body Shop girls are, we are sure, just as pretty as those class-seeking girls of decades ago, but most of the tease is gone. In place of those bathtubs and fans there is the ubiquitous brass pole. Some things change, while others fade away. - by Carol Gwenn.

Tommy Lee from Motley Crue.

May 5th 1987
A Girls, Girls, Girls listening party was held inside the Body Shop strip club at 8250 Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood to celebrate the bands' fourth album release set for the following day.

"All the places mentioned in the song--like the Dollhouse in Fort Lauderdale, the Marble House in Paris, France, The Body Shop and the 7th Veil in L.A.--these are all strip clubs. It's pretty self-explanatory." - Motley Crue
